The Intelligence Saga

A four-book voyage through artificial intelligence.

From first understanding to practical mastery, enterprise leadership, and humanity's long-term future. Written with the wonder of exploration and the discipline of someone who actually ships software for a living.

Both books are free to read with Kindle Unlimited.

About the Saga

Not afraid. Not dazzled. Understanding.

Every generation meets a technology that redraws the map: electricity, television, the internet. For this generation, it's artificial intelligence. Most people split into two unhelpful camps, afraid of it or dazzled by it. The Intelligence Saga is written for the third option.

The series uses a vocabulary of exploration (signals, voyages, star charts, ships, missions) as a memory aid, never as a replacement for plain explanation. Every metaphor sits next to its plain-language meaning.

Book I

AI for Everyone

Awakening the Signal: A Beginner's Star Chart to Artificial Intelligence

Most people meet artificial intelligence the way they meet weather. It happens around them, and they adapt. AI for Everyone changes that. In fifteen clear, jargon-free chapters, it explains how machines learn, why AI sometimes gets things confidently wrong, and what the technology means for your family, your work, and your future. No technical background required.

  • 15 chapters
  • 30 diagrams
  • A Mission Log in every chapter

Book II

Starships of the Mind

Mastering AI: A Practitioner's Guide to Using, Building, and Connecting AI Systems

Most people use AI the way passengers use an airplane. They ride along and hope it lands. Starships of the Mind teaches you to fly it: how to brief AI precisely, ground its answers in your own data, connect it to real tools, test whether it actually works, and keep it running once people depend on it. Every chapter works without code. Ten optional Engine Room sidebars show the Python underneath.

  • 15 chapters in 3 parts
  • 30 diagrams
  • 10 Engine Room sidebars
  • Running case: Harbor Street Cycles

Portrait of Bobby C. Sanchez

About the author

Bobby C. Sanchez

Bobby C. Sanchez is a software engineering leader who has spent twenty years building technology and leading the teams that create it. As a director of software engineering, he has guided engineers, analysts, and business partners through the arrival of AI in everyday work, from early experiments to production systems. His focus is helping people understand technology clearly enough to use it wisely.

He writes the Intelligence Saga for the crews who come next, and he's working on his first techno-thriller.

The engine matters, but the voyage depends on everyone aboard.

Incoming · Book III

Commanding the Hypernet

You've learned to fly the ship. Now it's time to lead the fleet. Book III moves from building systems to leading organizations through them: setting strategy, governing dozens of systems at once, managing risk at scale, and leading people through change with honesty and care.

If Book II gave you the ship, Book III gives you the command.
